NATIONAL PARTY CHIEF DR. ABDUL MALIK BALOCH MEETS FEDERAL MINISTER AHSEN IQBAL TO DISCUSS BALOCHISTAN’S WATER CRISIS AND FINANCIAL WOES OF UNIVERSITIES

Islamabad, August 16, 2024: National Party’s Central President, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, met with Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsen Iqbal, in Islamabad to discuss the water crisis in Balochistan, particularly in Gwadar, and the financial struggles of universities in the province.

Dr. Baloch highlighted that many villages in Gwadar, Pasni, and Jiwani lack access to clean drinking water, despite the federal government’s previous attention to this critical national issue. He emphasized the need for further attention to resolve this problem.

He also discussed the financial difficulties faced by universities in Balochistan, where teachers are often seen protesting on the streets due to salary issues. Dr. Baloch stressed that it is the state’s fundamental responsibility to address the problems of educational institutions.

Regarding the water crisis in Gwadar, Dr. Baloch noted that while some progress has been made, the issue of water distribution remains. He suggested that more water lines are needed to ensure that clean water reaches every village and city. He mentioned that federal water schemes have been prepared in the past and urged the federal government to take steps to resolve this issue.
