Islamabad, August 8: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a comprehensive reform program aimed at revolutionizing the business landscape in Pakistan. The initiative, touted as the largest of its kind in the country’s history, seeks to create a conducive environment for investment and entrepreneurship.

The program’s key features include the establishment of a digital registry of Pakistani laws and rules, the abolition of unnecessary regulations, and the streamlining of bureaucratic processes. These measures are expected to significantly reduce the time and effort required for registration, permits, and other essential steps, thereby facilitating ease of doing business.

The Prime Minister has constituted a special committee to oversee the implementation of the program, which will focus on high-priority sectors in its initial phase. The goal is to position Pakistan among the world’s most attractive destinations for business and investment.

The program’s successful implementation is expected to spur private sector growth, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the country’s economic development. The Prime Minister has set a deadline of December 2024 for the compilation and digitization of important laws and rules.

This landmark initiative has been made possible through collaborative efforts with international institutions, which have expressed interest in funding the project. The Prime Minister has expressed gratitude to these partners, particularly American development agencies, for their support.

With this reform program, Pakistan is poised to take a giant leap forward in its quest for economic prosperity and sustainable growth.
