PASHTUNS NOT TERRORISTS, BUT VICTIMS OF TERRORISM: ASGHAR KHAN ACHAKZAI

(Independent Correspendent)

Chaman, August 8: Asghar Khan Achakzai, Provincial President of Awami National Party, has strongly condemned the misconception that Pashtuns are terrorists, stating that they are, in fact, victims of terrorism.

Addressing a gathering, Achakzai emphasized that Pashtuns are not against the state but are fighting for their rights and resources. He highlighted the historical context of the Durand Line, a time-bound agreement that has been used to control Pashtun regions.

Achakzai criticized the state’s broken promises to the people of Chaman, particularly regarding the crossing point. He appealed to progressive and patriotic forces to join hands in restoring the old system of travel and trade on the Durand Line, using identity cards and permits.

The gathering included a diverse range of individuals, from judges and lawyers to politicians, clerics, tribal leaders, journalists, doctors, engineers, students, poets, and intellectuals, all united in their quest for justice and rights.
