Chaghi, August 6, 2024 – The All Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association has accused the staff of the Balochistan Health Care Improvement Project (BHCIP) of neglecting their duties, resulting in the loss of precious lives in Chaghi district.

According to Allah Noor Baloch, President of the association, the project’s staff, including gynecologists, surgeons, anesthetists, and lady medical officers, are drawing hefty salaries of up to Rs. 8 lakhs per month but are not performing their duties.

“The staff is not utilizing the resources provided under the project, including modern ambulances and equipment,” Baloch said. “This has resulted in the referral of patients to Quetta, leading to the loss of precious lives.”

The association has demanded that the authorities take action against the negligent staff and ensure that they perform their duties. They have also warned that they will be forced to stage protests if the authorities fail to take action.

The BHCIP project was launched to provide free medical services to pregnant women and newborns in Chaghi district. However, the association has accused the project’s management of misusing funds and resources.

“We will not tolerate the misuse of resources and the neglect of duties by the project staff,” Baloch said. “We demand that the authorities take immediate action to address the grievances of the people.”

The association has called upon the Provincial Secretary of Health, Director General Health Services, and other high officials to take notice of the situation and take necessary action.
