Sibi, August 5: Following the directives of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Safraz Bugti, Provincial Minister for Irrigation Mir Sadique Umrani, and Provincial Secretary for Irrigation Hafiz Abdul Majid, XEN Sibi, accompanied by district administration officials, visited areas affected by monsoon rains. The areas visited included Nari Headwork, Sibi Town Protection Bund, and several villages.
XEN Sibi stated that overall, the situation is under control, but some areas have suffered damage. A detailed assessment of the damage is being conducted. Work is ongoing to strengthen protective embankments. However, a shortage of heavy machinery is being faced in some areas. The situation is being effectively monitored, and government-level funding is necessary. In some places, the situation is fully under control, and emergency restoration work is being carried out. Measures are being taken to ensure flood protection. The top priority is to ensure the TVsafety of people’s lives and property. Waterways and flood routes are being regularly monitored.
