Message by Law Minister on Youm-e-Istehsal, August 5, 2024

On August 5, 2019, India violated UN resolutions by taking illegal and unilateral actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). These actions were aimed at altering the status of this disputed territory, using unbridled force with complete impunity.

Pakistan has consistently raised a strong voice against these violations and has approached international forums to highlight the plight of the Kashmiri people. We unequivocally reject India’s actions and condemn the atrocities, extra-judicial killings, and suppression of basic facilities imposed on the Kashmiri people to silence their voices.

Pakistan will not rest until the freedom and justice of the Kashmiri people are achieved. We demand the restoration of Kashmir’s special status as a state and the right of self-determination for its people, in accordance with international conventions.

On this solemn day, we reiterate our unwavering support for the Kashmiri struggle and vow to continue advocating for their rights on all international platforms.
