Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Chairs NDMA Third Meeting, Emphasizes Effective Coordination and Preparedness for Emergency Situations

Islamabad, July 30 – The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) held the third meeting of the National Disaster Response Committee (NDRC) under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal. The meeting discussed contingency plans for effective response to potential emergency situations during the monsoon season.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the need for effective coordination among institutions, joint training exercises, and a coordinated response to ensure preparedness for any unforeseen situation. He directed provincial authorities to take proactive measures to address potential emergencies and stressed the need for a comprehensive framework to mitigate weather-related risks.
The minister highlighted the crucial role of NDMA in ensuring an effective response to emergency situations and noted that the establishment of the NDRC is a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan’s disaster management framework.
