The Pakistan Bar Council through its Directorate of Legal Education(DLE) and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to streamline efforts to uplift the standard and quality of legal education in the Country.

 

The ceremony was attended by Minister for Law & Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar and Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtar. Members of Pakistan Bar Council including Syed Amjad Shah, Hassan Raza Pasha, Haroon Rashid and Director (DLE) Barrister Usama Malik were also present at the occasion. The MOU aims to enhance collaboration in order to revamp the syllabus of LLB/LLM in Pakistan along with promoting training of law faculty members in the country.

 

Under the MOU, both the regulators i.e. HEC & PBC have undertaken to strictly implement the quality assurance criteria in legal education institutions. The MOU was signed by Barrister Usama Malik, Director (DLE) and Dr Anwar Gillani Consultant Quality Assurance HEC. The Law Minister appreciated the signing of MOU and said that this will significantly contribute towards improving the quality of legal education in the country.
