Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Hosts Workshop on IT Pakistan Security Standards at Ramada Hotel Karachi with collaboration of NTSIB

 

Karachi: A one-day awareness workshop and training session was held at the Ramada Hotel Karachi, emphasizing the importance of adhering to newly approved IT security standards to enhance the security and reliability of IT infrastructure in Pakistan. The event, organized by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) in collaboration with the National Telecom and Information Security Board (NTISB) of the Cabinet Division, Government of Pakistan, focused on ensuring that cryptographic and IT security products and services in Pakistan meet mandatory security and technical requirements, promoting the use of validated products and services.

The workshop was hosted by Mr. Mujeeb ur Rehman Solangi, Incharge Media Division of PSQCA, and began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Moulvi Abdul Nabi. Mohammad Ashraf Palari Director PSQCA and Ms. Anjum Parveen, Deputy Director of Information Technology at PSQCA, delivered the opening remarks. Brig. Rana Farukh Saleem, Secretary NTISB, provided an overview of NTISB, while Dr. Haider Abbas, Program Director of the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT), briefed the attendees about the NCERT program. Ms. Uroosa Kiran of Pakistan Security Standards (PSS) also contributed to the briefing.

The Director General of PSQCA, Mr. Taufeeq Ali Abbassi, closed the program with vote of thanks and conclusion the event, distributed certificates and shields among the participants.
