_HEAVY RAIN HITS ISLAMABAD, INTERIOR MINISTER MOHSIN NAQVI DIRECTS EMERGENCY MEASURES_

Islamabad, July 27, 2024 – Following heavy rainfall in Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) teams to remain alert and take immediate action to address waterlogging issues.

Minister Naqvi has ordered CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Rindhawa to personally monitor drainage work in low-lying areas and ensure its swift completion. He also directed 24/7 monitoring of water flow in nullahs and waterways.

Additionally, Naqvi instructed that additional staff and machinery be deployed as needed. He activated teams from ADCs, Assistant Commissioners, CDA officers, MCI, and 1122 for drainage efforts.

The Minister’s directives aim to mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall and ensure the city’s infrastructure can handle the waterload.
