The Pakistan Street Child Football Team held a press conference at the Sports Complex in Islamabad

Islamabad (Pakistan) – The Pakistan Street Child Football Team held a press conference at the Sports Complex in Islamabad today, in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, before participating in the Norway Cup 2024. The press conference was attended by the captain of the national street child football team, Muhammad Adil, coach Muhammad Rashid, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Country Head of Muslim Hands Pakistan, Syed Zia-ul-Nour, and the administration of the Project Field. According to the press conference statement, the squad for the Norway Cup 2024, to be held from July 27, 2024, was announced. The team includes forwards Muhammad Kashif, Isa Khan, Shahid Anjum, Abdul Ghani, midfielders Muhammad Junaid, Muhammad Khan, Daniyal, Ovais, Muhammad Osama, defenders Asad Nasser, Ubaidullah, Muhammad Adil, Hamza Gul, and goalkeeper Aryan Adil Ali Khan. The national team will depart for Oslo, Norway on July 25 to participate in the event. The national street child football team will start their group matches from July 28, with their first match against Norway’s Astor Football Club on July 28. Earlier, the administration of the Pakistan Street Child Football Team had conducted trials for the Norway Cup across the country three months ago, in which thousands of young players participated. Speaking to journalists at the press conference, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, said that Muslim Hands’ Project Field has been working with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, for several years to provide skills development programs for young people. He added that through Project Field, thousands of young people across Pakistan are being trained in various courses so that they can become certified and find employment abroad. The Pakistan Street Child Football Team has been representing Pakistan in the Norway Cup for the past four years and has a talented team. Captain Muhammad Adil said that the team is fully prepared to participate in the Norway Cup and is practicing daily to learn new skills. He expressed hope that they would win the title this time. Speaking to journalists, the administration of Project Field said that Muslim Hands’ Project Field is working to improve the lives of street children across Pakistan through football. There are over 1.8 million street children in Pakistan, and they are working to provide them with their right to identity, education, and skills training so that they can play a positive role in society. They are also working to bring 500,000 out-of-school children back to school and provide them with quality education. It is worth noting that the Pakistan Street Child Football Team was the runner-up in the Norway Cup 2023 and the Street Child Football World Cup in Qatar, and won second place in the Norway Cup 2015 and third place in the Norway Cup 2016.
