KP Food Authority Imposes Hefty Fines on Major Hotels and Shops in Nathiagali for Poor Hygiene

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority conducted crackdown on major hotels and shops in Nathiagali last day, imposing huge fines for violating health and hygiene standards.
Spokesperson for the Food Authority told while releasing details, the Food Safety Team Abbottabad carried out operation, following complaints from local residents and tourists. Under the supervision of Director Operations Akhtar Nawaz, the team inspected major hotels and shops in the key tourist spots of Nathiagali. During these inspections, they found violations of health standards, poor hygiene conditions, and expired food items including stale fruits and vegetables. Heavy fines were imposed on the owners of these establishments.
The spokesperson further revealed that due to extremely poor hygiene conditions, a fast food cafe was also sealed by the Food Safety Team.
Director General for the Authority, Wasif Saeed, commended the Food Safety Team for their successful operations and warned food related businesses that strict action will be taken against those who endanger tourists’ health. He instructed the relevant officers to ensure regular inspections of food businesses in tourist areas.
