“Asia’s Share in Global GDP to Reach 50% by 2035: Ahsan Iqbal”

Islamabad,  : The Belt and Road Investment Forum’s high-level policy dialogue was held in Islamabad on Thursday. The forum brought together ministers, diplomats from neighboring countries, government officials, experts, and private sector leaders. Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb attended the event, along with ambassadors from China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The forum, led by the private sector, aims to promote regional economic cooperation and attract foreign investment. Ahsan Iqbal said that by 2035, Asia’s share in global GDP will reach 50%, up from 13% in 2000 and 35% last year. He emphasized the need to develop the region’s connectivity infrastructure and attract private investment.

The forum also discussed the establishment of a $1 billion fund for joint projects, the creation of a regional economic zone, and the development of institutional frameworks for regional markets.
