Long-standing issues of mine owners to be resolved by giving mining sector status of industry at federal level, says Governor

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that all the long-standing issues of mine owners would be resolved by giving mining sector the status of industry at the federal level.
In this regard, it is very necessary to provide all necessary facilities and opportunities to all mine owners of the province so as to end poverty and unemployment in the province.
The Governor also said that our province is rich in natural resources and minerals, therefore, it is important to exploit the available minerals and other resources for the best interest of the province and country.
These and similar other views were expressed by the Governor while speaking to a delegation of mine owners who called on him under leadership of Behroz Hussain Reki here at the Governor’s House on Tuesday.
During the course of meeting, different matters pertaining to law and order situation in the province as well as protection of life and property of the mine owners and provision of necessary facilities and loans from the government were discussed.
The Governor maintained that protection of life and property of the masses is responsibility of the government.
Besides, the living standard of the people would be raised but new opportunities of livelihood would also be made available with creation of new opportunities for traders, industrialists and mine owners and provision of access to the trade markets of neighbouring countries.
