100 more Green Buses approved for Quetta city: Commissioner

QUETTA: The Commissioner Quetta Division, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat has stated that 100 more Green Buses have been approved for the Quetta city and in first phase, at least 25 buses be brought in the city.
The Commissioner Quetta was speaking to the media persons here at the office of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation on Monday.
He said that better facility of public transport has been made available to the citizens with provision of Green bus service in Quetta.
He added that at the moment, only eight buses have been operating under private contract in Quetta city.
More than 11,000 people travel by these Green buses daily, which is the major success. That’s why, 100 more buses have been approved for the city, the Commissioner Quetta maintained.
He expressed the hope that 25 buses would come within one and half month in the first phase.
These buses would be plied on other routes of the city.
With this , there would be marked reduction in rickshaws and motorcycles but it would also help improve traffic system in the city, he believed.
