“Islamabad, June 1: Islamabad Food Authority takes action against milk mafia. Deputy Director Islamabad Food Authority, Dr. Tahira Sadique, leads food safety teams in a raid on a dairy unit in Sara-i-Kharbooza.
1200 kg of adulterated butter, 300 kg of cream, and banned ingredients seized. Unit sealed on the spot due to failed tests. Adulterated butter was being prepared using expired cream and banned ingredients. Deputy Director Islamabad Food Authority finds poor sanitation, lack of medical and other necessary documents. Dr. Tahira Sadique says adulterated butter causes stomach diseases in children and the elderly. She is taking measures to ensure traceability of milk and other products from production to consumption.”
