No shortfall of electricity  in Balochistan, says  CEO of QESCO

QUETTA: The Chief Executive Officer, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), Shafqat Ali has stated that there is no shortfall of electricity in Balochistan province.
While speaking to media persons in his office on Friday, the Chief Executive Officer of QESCO said that the province is getting 735 megawatt electricity from the national grid system.
Therefore, there’s no shortfall of electricity in the province.
He said that it has been decided to decrease the load shedding duration due to heatstroke in the province.
He mentioned that the feeders of province have been divided in eight categories regarding load shedding.
The duration of load shedding has been made different in each category, the QESCO Chief maintained.
Referring the cost of electricity supplied to the agricultural feeders, Shafqat Ali said that the utility bill of electricity for one hour on daily basis costs Rs. 1 billion and 50 million.
He urged the zamindars of province to pay their utility bills otherwise the electricity supply would be suspended to their feeders.
The QESCO Chief said that the arrears of QESCO have been increased to the extent that it is feared that the Company may be shut down.
