The Rawalpindi Restaurant, Caterers, Sweets and Bakers Association has rejected the district administration’s decision to fix uniform rates for tandoor owners and restaurant owners at same basis,And said that we supported the institutions in every difficult time, but unnecessary fines by the magistrates are not acceptable in any case. The district administration should listen to our position and decide the rates.Placing additional burden on the business community without consultation is not a good move which we strongly condemn.

The members of Rawalpindi Restaurant, Caters, Sweets and Bakers Association under the leadership of President Chaudhry Farooq and Chairman Mumtaz Ahmed met Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema and presented their recommendations. On this occasion, President of Rawalpindi Restaurant, Caters, Sweets and Bakers Association, Chaudhry Farooq,Chairman Mumtaz Ahmed,General Secretary Raja Adnan Mehmood,Senior Vice President Chaudhry Zahid Mehmood,Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Muneer, Shakir Sharif,Malik Aftab, Chaudhry Nasir, Chaudhry Hafeez,Sheikh Imran Elahi, Vice President Sardar Ejaz Wilayat,Information Secretary Tariq Khan, Chaudhry Sharaft Ali Awan,Sheikh Nair Feroze informed Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema about his reservations on the issue of Roti rate and said that if you want to check the rate of Roti at the restaurants, then the restaurants should be given the rate of the Roti first. While the administration is fining the restaurants on the rate of Roti taken out for the Tandoors.Tandoor is given Rs 700 per MMBTU, while restaurants pay Rs 3900 per MMBTU for sui gas.Restaurant owners provide excellent services to their customers. While the Roti from the tandoor has to be taken standing on the road and the customer goes home and eats the Roti. The government is increasing the prices of its products daily. In which the price of sui gas has been increased from 400% to 1100%.The price of electricity is also being increased day by day, tThe water bill was increased by 1000%.Everyone has hopes from Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz that she will solve our problems. She should use their powers to eliminate illegal encroachments.Restaurants cannot sell Roti at the rate of tandoors. Roti with all expenses costs Rs 18.50 at small hotels and more than Rs 25 at big restaurants. The series of baseless fines on traders by the magistrate should be stopped.
