“Women police station to be set up in Sibi”:

QUETTA: The Balochistan cabinet approved the Early Age Marriage Prevention Bill 2024 and the amendment bill of Elimination of Domestic Violence 2023 here on Tuesday.
The cabinet decided to set up women police station in Sibi in order to provide legal aid and guidance to the women.
The cabinet meeting was chaired by the Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti at the CM’s secretariat on Tuesday.
According to the Advisor to Chief Minister for Women Development, Dr. Rubaba Buledi, certain important matters were discussed and decisions were made in the cabinet’s meeting.
The necessary approval was accorded to different departmental matters as officially required, mentioned in a hand out issued here. The cabinet meeting would also be held on second consecutive day, today (Wednesday).
However, the Advisor to Chief Minister for Women Development mentioned that the cabinet approved in principle the formation of committees for prevention and elimination of violence against women at the district level.
She said that decisions were made on three important matters related to women.
She said that the long struggle made by the civil society and non governmental organizations working on rights of women has bear fruit finally.
Dr. Rubaba Buledi said that the provincial government is taking steps for welfare of the women and protection of their rights under leadership of Chief Minister.
She thanked the Chief Minister and all cabinet members on approval of the bills regarding women in the province. She said that the approval of the pending matters and bills was made possible because of the support of Chief Minister and cabinet members.
