Civil & military leadership determined to provide basic facilities to people of southern Balochistan, says Chief Minister

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Bugti has stated that implementation on the proposed package would be ensured for bringing the backward areas of the south Balochistan.
The Chief Minister said that the southern areas of the province remained backward due to insurgency, however, the civil and military leadership is determined to provide basic facilities to the people of south Balochistan.
He directed to start work on the pending development package of south Balochistan within three weeks by removing hurdles in it’s execution.
He also directed to maintain high standard of work on the development projects. For the purpose, Chief Minister Inspection Team would visit the development projects to review quality of work.
The Chief Minister issued these directives while chairing review meeting on the southern Balochistan development package here on Thursday.
The concerned high ups briefed the meeting about provision of basic facilities including education, health, communication means, irrigation, water supply under the southern Balochistan development package.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the trust of people would increase on State with implementation in projects of southern Balochistan package.
He stressed that government of Balochistan and FWO would sign agreements for the concerned sectors soon so as to execute the projects identified in the development package.
The Chief Minister said that meeting would be held with the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for provision of funds according to the commitment made by the federation.
The members belonging to southern Balochistan would be included in the delegation, added Chief Minister.
He expressed displeasure over absence of Secretary Irrigation from the meeting.
He was displeased with the unsatisfactory briefing of the junior non-concerned officer in the responsible decision making forum.
He directed to the Chief Secretary to take action in this regard.
He said that the nature of forum and importance of matters has not been taken serious.
The meeting was attended by the provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Buledi, Mir Saleem Khosa, members of provincial assembly Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Mir Barkat Rind, Mir Asghar Rind, Khair Jan Baloch and Mina Baloch, spokesman of government, Shahid Rind, Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, planning and development, Abdul Saboor Kakar, besides other senior officers.
