QUETTA: The 40th Annual Conference of Gastroenterology and GI Endoscopy concluded here in Quetta on Sunday.
More than 300 health experts from the country and abroad dealing in the medical fields of gastroenterology and endoscopy participated in the conference organized by the Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology and GI Endoscopy.
The free endoscopy of the patients was also performed by the participating experts.
The medical experts presented research papers besides delivering state of the art lectures in the main sessions of conference.
The awareness session was also held for the people on conference.
Addressing the closing ceremony of conference, Chairman organizing committee, Professor Dr Dawood Ghilzai stressed the need to prepare comprehensive strategy for coping with the challenge of increasing liver and Gastro diseases in the country.
He also stressed the need to make sincere efforts for launching lever transplant programme besides establishing lever institute in the province.
He expressed his deep concern over increasing number of patients suffering from lever disease.
Professor Ghilzai said that we need to ponder upon the situation and make endeavors for establishing at least one center for lever transplant in Quetta.
