On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, Police teams are in action for drug free Punjab and to root out the menace of drugs.

On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, targeted operations of police teams are going on in all districts of the province for the elimination of drugs and drug-free Punjab campaign. IGP Punjab Dro Usman Anwar said that all the accused involved in this dangerous business are being brought to justice. Spokesman Punjab Police said that more than 14,000 raids have been conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers during a special campaign in various districts including Lahore. 4897 kg of charas, more than 26 kg of Ice, 210 kg of opium, 88 kg of heroin and 42132 liters of liquor were recovered from the culprits.
The spokesman of Punjab Police said that in the last 24 hours, 321 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province including Lahore, 138 cases were registered against the accused involved in drug trade and 141 accused were arrested. 61 kilos of charas, 2454 liters of alcohol and other drugs were recovered. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while giving instructions to speed up targeted operations against drug dealers in all districts, said that the accused who are destroying the future of the young generation will be brought under the law. IGP Punjab stressed that strict punishment should be given to the culprits through the courts.
