by Muhammad Mohsin Iqbal

In the midst of life’s trials and tribulations, there are moments of profound beauty and spiritual revelation that leave an indelible mark on our souls. For me, such a moment unfolded when I witnessed my son, Muhammad Mustafa Iqbal, reciting the Quran from memory. It was a testament to the miracle of memorizing the Quran and the transformative power it holds.

As a parent, seeing my son immerse himself in the sacred verses of the Quran filled me with a sense of awe and gratitude. The Quran, regarded as the ultimate guide for humanity, holds immense significance in the lives of billions worldwide. But to witness its words flowing effortlessly from the lips of my own child was a moment of profound spiritual fulfillment.

The journey of memorizing the Quran is no small feat. It requires dedication, perseverance, and unwavering faith. For my son, it was a journey filled with late-night study sessions, countless revisions, and the guidance of knowledgeable teachers. But beyond the sheer determination, there was a divine grace at work – a grace that made the seemingly impossible, possible.

However, our joy was bittersweet. My father Chaudhary Muhammad Iqbal, Mustafa’s grandfather, had harbored a fervent desire to host a grand celebration upon Mustafa’s completion of his Hifz Quran. Tragically, he departed from this world just one and a half year before Mustafa achieved this milestone. Yet, I find solace in knowing that his soul rejoices in paradise, witnessing Mustafa’s remarkable achievement from above.

One of the most heartwarming moments came when Mustafa began accompanying me to the mosque for Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan. It was during these blessed nights that I witnessed the true extent of Mustafa’s connection with the Quran. I asking him which Surah and Parah the Qari was reciting, and to my amazement, Mustafa replied with unwavering accuracy. His knowledge and understanding of the Quran were truly awe-inspiring.

When Mustafa recited, each word resonated with a clarity and depth that transcended mere recitation. It was as if the verses themselves were alive, pulsating with divine energy. In that moment, I understood why memorizing the Quran is often referred to as a miracle – because it defies logic and human capabilities.

But the miracle extended beyond the mere act of memorization. It was evident in the transformation that took place within my son. Memorizing the Quran instilled in him a sense of discipline, humility, and reverence for the divine. It shaped his character, instilling values of compassion, empathy, and righteousness.

Moreover, the Quranic verses he had committed to memory became a source of solace and guidance in times of difficulty. They served as a beacon of light, illuminating the path forward amidst life’s challenges and uncertainties. And as a parent, witnessing my son draw strength from the words of the Quran was nothing short of miraculous.

In a world filled with distractions and temptations, the Quran stands as a timeless beacon of truth and guidance. And through the miracle of memorization, its words continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of believers across the globe. My son’s journey is but one example of the transformative power of the Quran – a power that transcends time and space.

In a nutshell, the experience of witnessing my son, Muhammad Mustafa Iqbal, recite the Quran from memory was nothing short of miraculous. It reaffirmed my faith in the divine and served as a reminder of the profound impact that memorizing the Quran can have on one’s life. As parents, educators, and members of the community, let us cherish and support the noble endeavor of Quranic memorization, for in doing so, we participate in a truly miraculous journey of spiritual growth and enlightenment.
