By-laws and legislation to regulate tourism by development authorities in mountain areas are essential. Zahid Chanzeb

Zahid Chanzeb, Adviser to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tourism and Culture, has appreciated the role of Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) for the promotion of tourism in Kaghan Valley. He, however, emphasized the need for bylaws and legislation to regulate tourism activities by the development authorities in up mountainous areas

Without which, the authorities are unable to deliver organized services and increase its income through development process.

He assured that the present PTI-led KP government will ensure crystal clear progress in this regard, which will contribute in increasing the revenue of the authorities in addition to the abundant facilities for tourists.

He further reiterated that the promotion of tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the vision of our party chief Imran Khan, while the current provincial government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will cherish the dream of establishing a developed Islamic welfare society on the pattern of Medina state through reforms in all sectors.

 

He expressed this while talking with Director General of Kaghan Development Authority Muhammad Shabbir, who called on the Advisor Tourism in Peshawar and informed him about the problems and difficulties faced by the KDA related to tourism activities. He also apprised him of the recent glaciers fall incident in Kaghan and the successful rescue operation thereon.

 

Zahid Chanzeb highly appreciated DG KDA valiant role by taking immediate action on receiving the tip of two glaciers collapsing in Kaghan valley last week wherein several hotels and houses were engulfed by it, and despite all communications being cut off, the rescue teams reached the incident site on emergency basis. Hence the Advisor Tourism called it a brave step and great achievement. He clarified that living nations face crises and challenges in the same manly manner.

He said that the provincial government values such dutiful officers and will continue the process of encouraging them.

 

Zahid Chanzeb on this occasion stressed the need for fool-proof arrangements for the tourists in view of the start of the season from Eid-ul-Fitr and hoped that KDA would ensure the quality of rest houses and hotels in Kaghan, besides proper parking and sufficient washrooms at suitable places in routes for tourists during peak hours. He also emphasized on the need to create bylaws to ensure the best hotel management and sanitation process along with parking facilities in an automated manner.

 

The Tourism Adviser also directed to complete the development process in the Kaghan Township Scheme at a fast pace. The Director General of Kaghan Development Authority assured the immediate implementation of the instructions of the Tourism Advisor and invited him to visit Kaghan, accepting which Zahid Chanzeb said that after Eid-ul-Fitr he will not only visit Kaghan and his constituency Mansehra, but, will tour all the tourist places of the entire province, including the merged districts, to closely examine the facilities being made available to the local and foreign tourists, he concluded.
