President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said that he was grateful to the people of Mirpur who have always stood by him in his decades long political struggle.”Be it his struggle to promote the Kashmir cause or fulfilling his vision and mission of public service, the people have always stood by me, all the way, with utmost courage and enthusiasm”, the president said this while addressing a grand Iftar dinner party hosted in his honour at Khari Sharif.The president said that he owed a debt of gratitude to the people of area who elected him as member Legislative Assembly time and again. Barrister Chaudhry said that after serving as the prime minister he now holds the highest position of the state.He said that serving the people of the state and promoting the cause of Kashmir has been the sole mission of his life.He said that the purpose of his public laison drive was to strengthen the freedom movement and expose the conspiracies being hatched by India. Highlighting the importance of the ongoing freedom movement against India, he said that it was the national responsibility of every Kashmiri to play his or her role to take the liberation struggle to its logical conclusion.The president said that during the past couple of years he had tried to make Azad Kashmir the basecamp of the freedom movement in the true sense. Referring to his foreign visits to USA, UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Jeddah, Turkey, Dubai and other parts of the world, the president said that during these visits he had informed the world about the worsening political and human rights in Occupied Kashmir. Referring to the press conference held in Muzaffarabad along with American Congresswoman Ilhan Umar and British High Commissioner’s visit to Mirpur, the president said that these high profile engagements were part of his campaign to mobilize world opinion and galvanize international support for the Kashmiri cause. The President expressed his serious concern over the continued bloodshed and bloodbath of innocent Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces. ” Since October 7, thousands of Palestinians have been martyred due to the barbaric bombardment of Gaza by the Israeli army”, he said. He said that the United Nations, OIC, and the European Union should come forward in a big way to stop the ruthless slaughter of Palestinians and find a permanent solution to the lingering conflict.He said that establishment of an independent Palestinian state was the only solution. On the occasion, Barrister Chaudhry thanked the people of Khari for according him a rousing welcome.” All the problems of Khari Sharif constituency will be solved on the priority basis”, he said.Barrister Chaudhry said that he decided to make Khari Sharif a Tehsil. He said that work on construction of roads and other development projects was going on. He said that Chaudhry Arshad Hussain has approved a grant of rupees three and a half crores for education and health package.Earlier, the President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry was given a warm welcomed by the people on his arrival. The Iftar dinner was also attended and addressed by Minister for Energy and Water Resources Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, Minister for Physical Planning and Housing Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Chairman District Council Raja Navid akhtar Goga and others.
