Nowshera Police Target Drug Trafficking.

PESHAWAR- District Police Officer Muhammad Azhar Khan has launched a determined crackdown on drug dealers in Nowshera, emphasizing the imperative to safeguard the youth from the pernicious influence of narcotics.Under the banner of the “Drug-Free Nowshera” initiative, a ten-day operation has been launched across the district, targeting drug trafficking at the grassroots level.The campaign, spearheaded by District Police Officer Muhammad Azhar Khan, aims to combat the menace of drug trafficking, which poses a grave threat to the future of the nation’s youth. Various police stations throughout the district have reported significant seizures as a result of the intensified efforts.According to official reports, several police stations have made substantial seizures during the ongoing operation. Notable among these are Nowshera Cantt police station, which seized 4.757 kilograms of hashish and 421 grams of ice; Badrashi police station, which confiscated 1.01 kilograms of hashish and 925 grams of ice; and Azakhel police station, where 7.21 kilograms of hashish and 1.37 kilograms of ice were seized. Furthermore, Klan police station reported the seizure of 23.243 kilograms of hashish, 2.367 kilograms of ice, and 1.11 kilograms of heroin.Similarly, Pabi police station seized 1.61 kilograms of hashish, 1.196 kilograms of ice, and 190 grams of heroin, while Jalozai police station recovered 8.47 kilograms of hashish and 112 grams of ice. The crackdown extended across the district, with Akbarpura police station seizing 4.803 kilograms of hashish and 510 grams of ice, and Akora police station recording a significant seizure of 29.751 kilograms of hashish and 1.114 kilograms of ice. Nizampur police station also contributed to the efforts, seizing 8.671 kilograms of hashish and 170 grams of ice, while Misri Banda police station recovered 12.886 kilograms of hashish and 268 grams of ice. In addition to the seizures, law enforcement authorities have taken stringent action against suspects involved in drug trafficking.A total of 110 suspects have been apprehended, and cases have been registered against them in accordance with the law. The “Drug-Free Nowshera” campaign reflects the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies to eradicate the scourge of drugs from the region. District Police Officer Muhammad Azhar Khan has reiterated the resolve to continue these efforts to secure a brighter future for the young generation and ensure the progress and prosperity of the community.
