Economic development: subject to political stability

By .Dr. Ghazala Shaheen waein

It is gratifying that after holding the general elections in the country, governments have been established at the center and in the provinces. The strong public interest in the recent elections shows that every citizen of Pakistan believes in the continuation of the democratic process and wants to continue this process. In this context, the authorities should not only take care of people’s emotions and feelings but also make sincere efforts to solve the problems faced by them without wasting time so that the trust of the people is not hurt.
Another important thing in this context is that the process of economic development can proceed successfully only when there is political stability in the country and political stability is possible only when all political party leadership and workers respect each other’s opinion. Disagreement is the beauty of the democratic process, if this beauty is maintained then the world will recognize us as civilized citizens, extremism of any kind is harmful, it paves the way for chaos in the country and affects the process of development. Concerns begin to arise. It is necessary that the rulers and the opposition do not allow threats to flourish that harm the continuity of the democratic process in the country. Avoid blaming each other, do not prioritize personal and party interests over national interests. In case of disagreement, listen to each other with a cool heart and answer each question in a civilized manner in the light of arguments so that mutual tolerance can be promoted in the country.
There is no doubt that the country is currently mired in serious problems, due to sky-high inflation and lawlessness, the condition of every citizen, especially the people living below the poverty line, is dire. Their solution to the people should be the first priority of the government. In this regard, all the political leadership should sit together to find solutions to the problems. In order to solve such problems of inflation and unemployment, there is a need to take concrete measures instead of ding tapo policies, such measures that can strengthen the economy and reduce the debt burden on the country. In this regard, as a nation, we need to utilize the available resources. Until we leave the wine of debt. The country cannot get rid of debts. What happened in the past, who did what, we have to move forward without wasting time in this debate, whoever is in power must resolve the issues wisely and in mutual consultation. The election of Mian Shahbaz Sharif as Prime Minister is welcome. Because, despite the differences, his political rivals recognize his patriotism and hard work day and night. It can be said with certainty that if he is allowed to work wholeheartedly for the next five years, the challenges faced by the country can be overcome. also have The opposition should show confidence in the Prime Minister to make the country economically stable. Become their arms so that the political tension in the country can be reduced and the process of development can move forward.
It is a fact that peace cannot be established in the country by political tension. If the political tension continues, there will be a fear that the global agenda of further weakening Pakistan economically will continue to advance. The break of this global agenda is that the political parties of Pakistan should respect each other’s mandate. Resolve political issues within Parliament. Enact legislation by consensus to keep national institutions within their limits. Abuse of authority always leads to killing of justice and fueling cruelty. This is a situation that can be resolved within Parliament. As far as the question of promoting mutual tolerance is concerned, Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif should take the initiative in this regard. It would be better if the opposition creates problems for the government, nor does the government try to corner the opposition. If this happens, then there will be political stability in the country, otherwise this dream will not be realized.
