QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has stated that all necessary measures would be taken for ensuring free and fair elections in the province.
In this regard, all government machinery has been mobilized all over the province.
The Chief Secretary directed to the concerned authorities to ensure foolproof security in all the polling stations besides availability of the water, electricity and washrooms there.
The Chief Secretary was presiding over a meeting held to review the preparations for general elections in Zhob on Saturday.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the arrangements made for conducting general elections in the Zhob Division.
He was also briefed about the arrangements besides other related matters about elections in the Zhob Division.
Also present in the meeting were Additional Chief Secretary Home, Zahid Saleem, Inspector General of police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, Secretary S&GAD, Syed Faisal Ahmed and Secretary Local Government, Noor Ahmed Pirkani, Commissioner Zhob, Tariqur Rehman and Deputy Commissioners of the districts besides other concerned high ups.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary said that the preparations have been finalized for the general elections in light of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that the availability of all basic amenities as well as the polling staff, IT staff with equipment is being ensured at the polling stations.
The necessary security arrangements are also being made at the sensitive and most sensitive polling stations in the Division.
It was also informed that the election would be conducted for one National Assembly and three provincial assembly seats in Zhob Division.
There are more than 3,78000 voters in all districts of the Division where over 300 polling stations would be established, it was also informed.
