Appellate tribunals heard 40 appeals against acceptance & rejection of papers

QUETTA: The Appellate Tribunals heard in all 40 appeals against the acceptance and rejection of the nomination papers of the candidates for next general elections in the province, here on Monday.
The Tribunals headed by the judges of Balochistan High Court, Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar and Mr. Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana the appeals against acceptance and rejections of the papers.
The Tribunal of Mr. Justice Hashim Kakar heard 8 appeals. After hearing the same, it allowed four to contest the polls. One of the appeal filed in the Tribunal was dismissed.
The Tribunal-I deferred hearing on two appeals for today (Tuesday).
Similarly, the Tribunal-II of Justice Aamir Rana heard 32 appeals. Thie tribunal allowed 15 candidates to contest elections after hearing of the appeals. This tribunal dismissed five appeals and reserved judgment on two appeals.
The Appellate Tribunal comprising Mr. Justice Rana allowed Nawabzada Gazin Marri to contest elections.
An appeal was filed against acceptance of his papers by the PML-N candidate, Nawab Jangez Khan Mari.
The Tribunal deferred hearing of the appeal filed against acceptance of papers of Mir Naseebullah Marri.
Similarly, the Tribunal declared the decisions of Returning Officers regarding acceptance of nomination papers of PML-N candidate Mir Faiq Jamali and PPP’s candidate, Mir Jamal Raisani as null and void.
