CM PUNJAB APPROVES REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF 2600 KM

LAHORE, : Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has approved the 2600-KM long road rehabilitation projects worth Rs150 billion in the province. Under this program, 104 roads will be revamped in different districts of the province according to the best quality.
These projects were an indispensable need of the people as roads will not only ease the traffic but also ensure a smooth flow of traffic, the CM noted while chairing a meeting in this regard.
Secretary C&W Sohail Anwar expressed that the best completion of the 104 roads’ revamping projects which were lying pending for an year, in less than an year’s duration, would be a record. A committee was monitoring the construction quality of roads in each district and division of the province, he added.
Meanwhile, nine road projects have already been completed while 33 highways were being constructed rapidly in different districts, which will be completed soon, he further said. The allocation of additional funds for 39 roads was under review and six projects were slated for completion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), he concluded. The meeting was attended by Minister Local Government Amir Mir, ACS, chairman P&D, secretary finance, Secretary C&W and others.
