Protests to be started from December 19, if demands not met:

Independent Report

QUETTA: The leaders of Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) have demanded of the government to meet the demands of participants of dharna being staged in Chaman.
If the demands of participants of dharna were not met, then protest demonstrations and dharnas would be staged in the southern districts of Balochistan.
The senior leader of PkMAP Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal was addressing press conference along with Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Kabir Afghan and others here at the Quetta press club on Sunday.
Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal said that the people of Chaman live on one side of the border while they do business on the other side of border. Under the given circumstances, it is not possible to enforce passport in the border area, Mr. Ziaratwal asserted.
The senior leader of PkMAP said that we don’t want to increase hardships of Pakistan, rather want to decrease them.
But, we are being punished for speaking of democracy.
He regretfully pointed out that the people are forced to lead miserable in Chaman life just because they are deprived of the livelihood. It has become hard for them to make their both ends meet, he added.
The PkMAP leader also said that we want such a system and mechanism under which people of both sides move across the border.
He also said that the PkMAP is ready for taking part in the general elections.
However, the issue of Chaman would be our agenda in the elections, he announced.
Mr. Ziaratwal said that the matters about the electoral alliance or seat adjustment would be decided in coming days.
He also referred to the protest dharna saying that it is continued for last two months, but the government is not taking it serious.
He mentioned that the chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai had given time of Friday last in his address to the dharna, but no steps were taken by the government to accept the demands of protesters.
He said that we support the demands of dharna participants and as such demand of the government to accept them without further delay.
He said that the border trade is being done with Iran and India through their respective borders, but it has been restricted only in Chaman.
He said that the issue should be resolved mutually by the state and protestors finding out a middle way.
