Govt of Balochistan decides to start crackdown against social media indulged in anti-state propaganda

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has decided to start crackdown against the social media indulged in the anti-state propaganda about expulsion of the illegal foreign immigrants from the country.
According to the official sources, the social media accounts and pages spreading baseless and false propaganda about expulsion of the illegal immigrants have also been identified and as such the social media companies are being contacted through PTA so as to block them.
It has also been decided to take action against those running such pages and accounts under the Cyber Crime Act of the FIA, the sources informed.
Meanwhile, the caretaker Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai also confirmed the crackdown against the social media involved in the anti-state propaganda.
He informed that the government has decided to take wholehearted action against the social media accounts and pages doing posts based on the lie against the repatriation of illegal immigrants.
In this regard, the lists of such social media accounts and pages have been prepared and the same are being sent to the digital media companies through PTA. While on the other hand, the Cyber Crime Wing of FIA is also being issued directives to investigate into the matter and take action against those running these social media accounts and pages.
The Minister Information said that some groups were busy in the anti-state and anti-government propaganda after making pages and accounts on the social media.
The fresh example of which is the propaganda being made against repatriation of the illegal immigrants and posts against the Balochistan Health Card Project, he added.
Jan Achakzai asserted that it is the state’s firm decision to repatriate all the illegal immigrants completely at every cost.
Under the given situation, some people are defaming the country and becoming instrument of foreign elements by using social media accounts, he said adding that all such accounts and pages would not only be blocked, but investigations would also be started against them through the Cyber Crime Wing.
He also vowed to take all such elements to task after completing investigations against them.
