Health Department determined to defeat Cong virus with public cooperation, says Secretary

QUETTA: While paying rich tributes to Dr. Shakrullah died of Congo virus in Karachi, the Secretary Health Department, Abdullah Khan has stated that the department is determined to defeat Congo virus with cooperation of general public. He urged the public to keep trust on the doctors and paramedics who are at the forefront for their protection by rendering sacrifice of their lives.
In a statement issued here, the Secretary Health said that Dr. Shakrullah was a senior and talented officer and with his death, the department is deprived of a capable and honest medical officer.
He expressed condolence and grief with the bereaved family of Dr. Shakrullah and said that he was under treatment at the Agha Khan Hospital Karachi after he had contracted the virus during duty in Quetta.
Dr. Shakrullah could not survive despite provision of all medical assistance, Secretary Health mentioned.
He prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul into Its eternal peace and give enough strength and patience to the bereaved family to bear the tragic loss.
He also said that the doctors and other medical staff contracted the Congo virus were shifted to Karachi by air ambulances for better treatment, and he was in constant coordination with the administration of hospital.
He said that the medical staff set great example of public service by caring the patients in hospitals instead of their families.
