Major attempt of terrorism foiled in Quetta; recovers explosive material, arms, ammunition

QUETTA: The police force foiled a major bid of terrorism in the provincial metropolis after it recovered huge quantity of explosive material a vehicle parked in the local parking located in Eastern bypass area on Wednesday.
According to the caretaker Provincial Minister for Home, Captain (Retd) Mir Muhammad Zubair Jamali, the police raided a car parked in a parking on a secret information received from the sources.
The police recovered the explosive material weighing 30-35 kilogram from the car parked in the parking area.
The bomb disposal squad of the special branch was called on the spot, which defused the explosive material.
Later, police impounded the vehicle seizing the explosive material.
Moreover, two Kalashnikovs and 14,000 rounds of bullets were also recovered from another vehicle parked in a parking at Circular road the same morning.
Meanwhile, the caretaker Provincial Minister Home congratulated the police team who successfully foiled the attempt of terrorism.
The Minister also announced to give commendation certificates to the concerned personnel.
He said that the police force saved the city from big destruction by carrying out timely action.
According to him, the seized materials, weapons and ammunition were to be moved to an unknown destination for terrorism.
However, further investigations are in progress, the caretaker Minister Home maintained.
