Gwadar port to be made operational as transit port soon, says caretaker CM

QUETTA: The caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has stated that the Gwadar port would be made operational as the transit port soon.
The caretaker Chief Minister was speaking to the media persons in Gwadar on Tuesday.
Also present on the occasion were caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Jan Muhammad Achakzai besides other concerned high ups.
The Chief Minister said that vessel monitoring system is going to be made effective for support of the coast guard and Navy.
He said that we are fully trying to prevent the illegal trawling.
Although, it is responsibility of the provincial government to resolve the issue of illegal trawling, however, in this regard, the assistance of federal government would also be taken, he maintained.
The Chief Minister also said that the work is continued with full determination for completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) so as carry on the economic activities there.
To a question, he mentioned that the Election Commission has announced to hold general elections in the last week of January, however, the final date or schedule has not been announced yet.
We would start preparations for the elections as soon as the final date is announced, adding he announced.
He said that there are issues of drinking water in Gwadar, and added that there have been less raining than last year, therefore, the available water resources are being used cautiously.
