Two new projects have been launched for the facilitation of the people of Lahore. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi laid the foundation stone of Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass and Ghora Chowk Defence Morr flyover projects today. A signal-free corridor will be constructed with the completion of both these projects from Centre Point to the Defence Morr. A dual-lane underpass will be built at Khalid Butt Chowk. A long flyover will be constructed consisting of three lanes and 742 meters long at Ghora Chowk Defence Morr. CM Mohsin Naqvi revealed that both projects will be completed in three months. LDA will construct an underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk while CBD will construct a flyover at Ghora Chowk Defence Morr. The repair work of other roads linked with the project will also be done. Daily 1,80,000 vehicles will be provided great amount of ease in their transportation with the completion of the said projects. The citizens residing in Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, CBD, Cantonment, Cavalry Ground, DHA and Walton will be greatly benefited from these projects. Commissioner Lahore/DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, CEO CBD Imran Amin and Engineers of LDA along with CBD while giving a briefing on the projects apprised that the length of the Khalid Butt Chowk underpass will be 540 meters and the width 15.8 meters. Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi after laying the foundation stone of the Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass and Ghora Chowk Defence Morr Flyover projects and talking with the media persons stated that the speed of the work is due to the team which is standing in front of us. Mohsin Naqvi apprised that the decision either to close down or not to close down mobile service on the eve of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) has not been made yet adding that the maximum amount of preparation has been made to ensure the security of Urs, Chehlum and matches. Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer, Mansoor Qadir, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Commissioner Lahore Division/DG LDA, CEO CBD, CCPO Lahore and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
