In an unprecedented move in Punjab’s history, a special ceremony commemorating Martyrs and Defense Day was organized under the directive of caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi actively participated in the poignant Martyrs and Defense Day ceremony hosted at Al-Hamra Arts Council. This event, orchestrated by the Department of Information and Culture, was dedicated to paying heartfelt homage to the martyrs of September 6, with the distinguished presence of the martyrs’ families as special guests.

The ceremony featured a special tribute to the valiant martyrs who defended our nation. Renowned artists such as Azra Jahan, Sanam Marvi, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and the acclaimed violinist Raees Khan showcased their exceptional talents. Rais Khan beautifully rendered patriotic melodies on his violin, invoking the spirit of national pride. Sanam Marvi moved the audience with her rendition of popular songs like “Mere Dhol Sepahiya,” while Ezra Jahan’s soulful performance of “Eh Patar Hattan Te Nain Vakde” resonated with the attendees.

During the ceremony, Imtiaz Sarwar, the father of Captain Salman Sarwar Shaheed, who made the ultimate sacrifice in Khyber Agency, shared his perspective. Imtiaz Sarwar emphasized that the commitment to safeguarding the nation extends beyond shedding blood; it entails preserving life for the purpose of development. He underscored that the responsibility of safeguarding the country falls not only on the shoulders of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies but on every citizen. He expressed his profound pride in his son’s martyrdom and prayed for his eternal patience.
