QUETTA: The Caretaker Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai has assured veteran politician and Chief of BNP(M), Sardar Akhtar Mengal, that the caretaker government of Balochistan will not have any impact on the upcoming elections.
The assurance comes in response to an interview given by Mengal to a private channel, where he claimed that members of the caretaker government in Balochistan have political affiliations with certain political parties. Mengal further stated that resigning from a party after taking an oath will not diminish a cabinet member’s loyalty or ideological affiliation.
In a statement issued today, Achakzai reassured Mengal that the members of the caretaker cabinet have no political agenda and will not participate in any way that violates the rules set by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
“The caretaker government is committed to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections in Balochistan,” Achakzai said. “We will not allow anyone to interfere in the electoral process.”
Achakzai also welcomed any legitimate proposals from Mengal to further ensure the fairness and transparency of the elections.
“We are always open to constructive suggestions,” he said. “We will consider any proposal that is in the best interests of the people of Balochistan.”
