Following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police undertakes a 10-day special drive under the supervision of CPO Operations to streamline the pending cases, complete challans, and apprehend proclaimed offenders and court absconders, a public relations officer said.
He said that, during the campaign, a total of 979 cases were challaned in relevant courts and 113 accused, including proclaimed offenders and 66 court absconders, were apprehended. Additionally, in the period from 2018 to 2022, 986 pending cases were successfully prosecuted.
The Capital Police Officer Operations division Shakir Hussain Dawar directed SSP Operations and other officials to ensure the completion of pending cases and the presentation of challans in relevant courts, aiming to ensure the arrest of criminals involved in heinous crimes such as murder and other serious offenses.
During the 10-day special drive, the Islamabad Capital Police teams ensured the fulfillment of all legal requirements, maintaining transparency and efficiency in the processing of cases reported during the current year, while also successfully completing the challans of 986 pending cases from 2018 to 2022.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan commended the performance of Islamabad Capital Police teams, emphasizing the continuation of such initiatives in the future as well.
He further directed all officers to consolidate all pending cases within a month and reduce the number of pending cases against the accused in court absconder cases.
