306 more connections disconnected as crackdown continues against power pilferers & defaulters

QUETTA: In all 306 electricity connections of the pilferers and defaulters were suspended as the extensive crackdown is continued by the Quetta Electric supply company (QESCO) all over the province including Quetta.
According to the spokesman of QESCO, applications were submitted to the concerned police stations for action against 42 electricity thieves in the province.
Moreover, 34 transformers of the defaulters and pilferers were also removed in different areas of the province.
The spokesman informed that in all 339 FIRs have been lodged against those involved in the power pilferage.
At least 127 electricity pilferers have also been arrested so far from different areas.
Over Rs. 110 million have been charged fine on account of the power theft, the QESCO spokesman informed further.
Out of the total fine, over Rs. 75 million have so far been collected, he mentioned.
