24 vehicles challaned on overcharging of fare on public transport

QUETTA: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) and Traffic Police continued crackdown against the transporters and drivers on overcharging of the fare on the public transport in Quetta.
According to an official hand out issued here, the team supervised by the Secretary RTA Waheed Sharif Umrani and Traffic Police raided the taxi stand and bus terminal located at Jable Noor, western bypass.
During the course of action, 24 vehicles were challaned on overcharging of the fare. While on the other hand, the extra fare charged from the passengers on some 71 buses and coaches were returned to them.
The Secretary RTA asked the transporters and drivers not to charge extra fare from the passengers taking advantage of the Eid.
Otherwise, stern action would be taken against them, the Secretary RTA warned.
