Five Day Capacity Building Workshop for Pakistan on the “Effective Implementation of the UNESCO Convention 2003 for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage”
Lok Virsa is pleased to inform that a five day capacity building workshop is being held at its premises as a lead organization through concerted efforts and collaboration of Regional Research Centre for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage in West and Central Asia, under the auspices of UNESCO commonly known as Tehran ICH Centre, national cultural organizations, provincial cultural directorates and regional cultural departments from AJK and GB.
This is a policy level workshop meant for the ICH focal persons and for senior executive officers of cultural bodies from all across the country to learn from the international experts, to know the international best practices and to learn from each other to better safeguard the ICH of Pakistan.
Tehran ICH Centre has funded the facilitators of the workshop. Professor Sajida Vandal, Expert on the Governing Council of the Tehran ICH Centre, and Global UNESCO Facilitator and Dr. Janet Blake, Global UNESCO Facilitator, and Associate from Iran would be the facilitators of the said workshop.
Director General of Tehran ICH Centre, Dr. Atousa Moemeni herself is coming to Pakistan to grace the event with her presence.
Federal Minister for Information & National Heritage and Culture Division, Mr. Attaullah Tarar would grace the inaugural ceremony of the workshop as Chief Guest on 24th June, at 10:00 am. While Federal Secretary, Mr. Nasir Hassan Jamy would grace the inaugural ceremony as Guest of Honor.
