Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi participated in the prize distribution ceremony being held at Al Hamra under the auspices of Sports department. CM distributed cash prizes among the players clinching top positions.The Sports officers for displaying a distinctive performance in the club registration campaign were awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates as well. Cash prizes worth rupees 3 crore 90 lac were awarded to 480 players by the Sports department. CM awarded a cash prize to Aayat Asmi for winning a bronze medal in the World Chess Championship. Rupees 10 lac were given to Muhammad Yasir for winning a bronze medal in the Asian Athletic Championship. Cash prizes amounting to rupees 48 lac on showing a distinctive performance in the Ramzan ul Mubarak Sports series were awarded to 20 players. Cash prizes worth rupees one crore 23 lac 50 thousand were distributed among 176 players for clinching distinctive positions in the Rising Punjab Games. Cash prizes worth rupees one crore one lac were distributed among 122 players for showing a distinctive performance in the 34th National Games. Tehsil Sports Officers were given motorbikes for the first time by the Sports department. Cash prizes worth rupees 50 lac were distributed among 132 women players for showing a distinctive performance during Young Games 2023. A collective award worth rupees 36 lac for the team winning a silver medal in the Junior Hockey Tournament was awarded. The player winning a gold medal in the Asian ParaOlympic Games (Discus Throw) was awarded rupees 20 lac prize.CM congratulated the players and the Sports officers for getting prizes . CM while addressing the Sports event in the Al Hamra Hall felicitated all the players and others who were awarded cash prizes adding that Adviser Wahab Riaz worked hard for the promotion of Sports. Wahab Riaz should work with the same spirit in cricket as well. Wahab Riaz worked with hard work and devotion the whole year. Whenever Wahab Riaz used to meet then he always brought some work for the promotion of Sports. The hard labour of Wahab Riaz is included in the distribution of cash prizes.Wahab Riaz has great love for Sports and is striving wholeheartedly for the promotion of sports.The same zeal of Wahab Riaz is needed in cricket as well so that further triumphs can be clinched in cricket. Mohsin Naqvi stated the practice regarding the distribution of Cash prizes will continue for the promotion of Sports and for the passion of the players.Cash prizes will be awarded next year as well. Punjab acquired 6th position in the National Games which is highly saddening. Punjab obtained 6th position despite availability of all the resources. The manner in which Wahab Riaz has taken positive steps for the promotion of sports, next year its positive results will surface in the National Games. CM apprised that Wahab Riaz, Secretary Raja Jahangir and his team has formulated a Sports calendar for the next three years which will clinch alot of triumphs. Today 80 players and officers are awarded cash prizes. Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that sports are a means to unite the whole nation. Private and public sector should work collectively for the progress and promotion of sports. We have to go far ahead in the field of sports for which we need to put in a lot of hard work. Provincial Ministers Amir Mir, SM Tanveer, Bilal Asghar, Mansoor Qadir, Azfar Nasir, Adviser Wahab Riaz, Adviser Kanwar Dilshad, Sports Adviser Wahab Riaz, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Sports Raja Jahangir Anwar, CCPO and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
