(QUETTA)- A technical team from the Sindh Food Authority (SFA), led by Director Technical Dr. Ahmed Ali Shaikh and Technical Advisor Dr. Seema Ashraf, recently visited the newly established laboratories of the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA). This visit took place at the invitation of the BFA and under the direction of DG SFA Agha Fakhar Hussain.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide guidance, assistance, and testing facilities to the BFA laboratories. The SFA team aimed to enhance the capabilities of the BFA in chemical analysis and microbial analysis.
During the visit, the SFA technical team offered consultations and guidance to the staff of the microbiology lab at BFA. They provided valuable insights on the analysis of loose or unpacked oil/ghee samples, harmonizing the procedure, and implementing uniform strategic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) followed by the Sindh Food Authority.
Furthermore, the SFA technical team extended their consultation and support to the BFA in chemical analysis. They provided expertise in food grade and non-food grade color analysis, powdered and infant formula milk analysis, as well as bakery and confectionery item analysis.
This collaborative effort between the SFA and BFA aims to strengthen the food safety infrastructure in Balochistan and ensure that the highest standards are maintained in the production and distribution of food products. By sharing knowledge, expertise, and resources, both authorities are working towards the common goal of safeguarding public health and promoting consumer confidence in the food industry.
